SCHAVOT is an excellent melodic black metal discovery for me, the mood of the music is quite similar to the great mid-90s. The female "aahs" and "oohs" in "Onmens" remind me at Siebenbürgen for example. Further vocal variation besides the harsh lead vocals comes by a kind of male spoken words, that is quite characteristic and some decent clean singing. The atmospheric keyboard layer is well integrated in the lively and dynamic mix and a lot of songs are really catchy and rousing. Brilliant opus!

Late 90's BM worship, but it's also a lil more than that. This album takes the best elements from the scene it's inspired by and mostly avoids the worst of it; the song-writing is well-written, it's performed with passion and fun, and the production is raw but isn't lo-fi. (i.e. it doesn't obfuscate and/or suckass). Tl;dr It's safe but high quality BM. Recommended.

Dinbethes blew me away, so I started paying attention to Dutch Black and found Ossaert. Then I realized P was involved in both projects; and following P, I found Weerzin and then this: Shagor. Total abyss, profundity, whirling blackness, ritualistic hallucinogenic trance chanting echoes, rabid nocturnal wailing, all raging from a chamber in an ageless citadel of Cyclopean masonry buried under the ocean. It’s so raw, yet so multilayered and impassioned. This is great! 10/10

These first two tracks sound incredibly promising. I dig the old school black metal vibe combined with great production values. Also, the singing deserves special mention!
